Writing, editing, translation

As a native English- and French- speaker who has lived in Germany for over 10 years, I am now trilingual and frequently work in 3 languages.

I have been working in the literary field since 2019, mainly undertaking commissions for the publishing company edition clandestin and the Jewish Museum of Switzerland, as well as editing and proof-reading  Laura Paddick's novels prior to the publication process.

Translation

My work in this field comprises  German to English and French to English translation.

The imperceptibly shifting light

creates chasms and rivers

and cathedrals with swirling grey pillars

in which throngs of birds amass to pray

and in a moment like a miracle

a sunbeam reaches through

to bless them with a light touch

before the wind draws a veil across the sky

and the sky draws a veil across the sea

and me?

I sigh and take a step into the new

imperceptibly shifting light.

TESTIMONIAL

"Louise has been working for the Jewish Museum of Switzerland since 2019 in many different roles, from performer to poet, from guide to researcher. She is a talented communicator in three languages, equally “fluent” in historical tours as in creative writing. For an event at our museum, she staged a show on Jewish Jazz in the form of fictional letters, which was a hit among our visitors. She is comfortable speaking to the public in person and on video. She is smart, artistic, independent, flexible, adaptable, quick-witted, funny and an endearing member of the Jewish Museum family."

Dr. Naomi Lubrich, director of the Jewish Museum of Switzerland
